Telus Communications Inc. is proposing to construct a 48.3m self-support tower at 74-52257 Range Road 231 in Sherwood Park. The proposal includes:
- A 45-meter self-support tower structure with a 3.3-meter lightning rod

- Equipment compound enclosed by a chain link fence at the base of the tower
- Access via Sconadale Road to the south

Telus' Stated Rationale
Telus claims there are no suitable existing antenna support structures or feasible structures that can be used for this location. The company states the tower is intended to expand their wireless coverage in the Strathcona County area.
